My vehicle was repossessed by Ally at the auto body shop while I was in court with the shop. A hearing is scheduled for September due to the shop's failure to properly repair the vehicle.

Ally claimed to have paid $5,000 to the shop on my behalf, as I had not paid for the repairs, despite having proof that the shop had already cashed the check. My vehicle contained personal belongings valued at over $1,000, including a leather chair, dashcam, a friend's package, floor mat, phone holder, and another package, which Ally refused to return. Ally falsely reported to the credit bureau that I had missed the August payment, leading to the repossession. When I contacted Ally, they either hung up on me, placed me on an extended hold, or yelled at me, demanding payment of $5,000 plus a $599 interest fee to retrieve my vehicle.

I attempted to explain that the auto body shop had misrepresented the situation, but Ally refused to listen. They informed me that my vehicle would be sold on August 28. I have been making timely payments on the vehicle since February 2024, and the vehicle remains insured. I did not receive an affidavit of defense, as I had requested that it not be sent to me.

The bank stated that they were protecting their interests, which I acknowledge, while also asserting my own interests in ensuring that I do not take possession of a vehicle that has not been properly repaired or has missing parts. This is why I was dealing with the shop, and Ally intervened without first contacting me to verify the accuracy of the shop's claims. I possess all necessary documentation to support my position. How do I pay for something that I don't owe?

What is the reason Ally repossessed my vehicle?

Where are my belongings? I have posted the check.

Where are your documents supporting you followed Ally’s instructions? The August payment? I don’t think you are in school 24 hours a day.

I guess you aren’t commenting because you are “in school”.

I guess you realized that up until a few hours ago you had two different posts for the same issue. The post no longer present only had two pics, neither supporting your claim.

You were arguing about someone “not reading” and “needing to go back to school”.

The ironic thing as the other comment here points out, is that the three additional pics don’t support your claim either. It sounds like you should heed your own advice and “go back to school”.

Guest

Your car was repossessed because you ignored Ally’s instructions in the letter dated July 15 with a July 25 deadline. You owed Ally the $5300+.

You paid the collision service. Nowhere near $5300 and 5 days past Ally’s deadline.

I think you should go back to school. Maybe if you knew reading comprehension you would have seen $5300+ and the July 25 deadline and the “we (Ally) paid on your behalf”.

Fraud and inappropriate repossession

Ally Financial - Fraud and inappropriate repossession
Ally Financial - Fraud and inappropriate repossession - Image 2

They repossessed my car at the auto body shop when I was in court with the shop. The hearing is scheduled in September because the shop did not repair the vehicle properly.

Ally said they paid $5,000 on my behalf to the shop because I didn't pay for the repair when I had proof that the guy had cashed the check already. I have in my car my belongings that cost more than $1,000: the leather chair, the dashcam, my friend's package, the floor mat, the phone holder, and my friend's package, but Ally refused to return them. They lied in my credit report that I didn't pay for August; that's why they repossessed the vehicle. When I called Ally, they hung up the phone on me or put me on long hold until the phone hung up alone, or the agent would yell at me by saying when I was going to pay the $5,000 plus $599 interest fee before I could get my car back.

I tried to explain that the auto body shop was lying. I don't owe him, but they never listen to me. Yesterday, they told me my car would be sold on August 28. I have been paying for this car since February 2024, with no missed or late payments, and this car is still insured.

I did not receive any affidavit of defense. I called and requested that they not send it to me. The bank told me on the phone that they are protecting their interest. Yes, I agree, while I am protecting mine also, because if I pick up a car that is not fixed properly or a car that has missing parts, I will be the one having problems on the road, not the bank.

So that's why I was dealing with the store, and the bank jumped into this matter coming from nowhere without contacting me first to confirm if what the shop was telling them was the truth. Again, I have all the proof.

You are too stupid for words. You circled August 2nd in your pic.

That just shows the date you visited the website.

In that pic it clearly shows July 3 as last payment. It seems you can’t read.

Guest

Go back to school? You posted TWO pics.

Neither reflects an August payment. Neither reflects proof YOU paid $5000. Both claims YOU stated in your post.

All those pics illustrate is a $400+ payment made JULY 3. Not one sign of a payment dated August nor an amount of $5000.

Guest

Whatever this $5000 is for that you claim you paid, why didn’t you post your proof? And on a separate issue, where is proof a payment was made in August?

Your proof should have been presented in court, not this website.

Guest

You posted no proof of a $5K payment. The first pic shows account status as of August 2, Repossession.

You posted no proof of an August payment. The second pic shows an August 2 date at the top of your screenshot, but last activity is a July 3 payment.

Go back to school, sorry I can't do anything for you if you can't read and put things together

Guest

More to this story. You would have been served and had an opportunity to appear in court regarding the repossession.

That's when you should have presented your "proof".

You didn't and now they're selling the car to recover their money. Blame yourself for being in this situation.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-2735523

Agree 100%. OP keeps telling me she posted proof and if I can’t read to go back to school.

As you saw, her pics show a repossession as the status and then the second pic shows a $400-something payment July 3.

She went on and on in her post how she made an August payment and also paid the $5000 Ally claims she did not. But she is not providing any evidence to back that up.

Yall stole my money and are holding it hostage

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I want my money out of my account now. I have waited long enough with y'all's crazy nonsense. This is retarded. You guys shouldn't be having a business, especially a bank, 'cause clearly you don't know what the *** you're doing. You're restricting my account because I used my money. What sense does that make? I was forced to use Zelle payments to send friends and family in order to access my money at all because of how ridiculously long y'all are making me wait for the debit card as it is, so that's not even my fault. I spent days on the phone with customer support because you all kept messing up and taking money out of my account, sending it to other accounts, 'cause I didn't do that. I don't even know how to do that, and blocking me on Zelle, and now my s***'s restricted. Are you serious? You're punishing me for using my money that I work for. That's hard to understand, isn't it? Now you're holding my money hostage. You're not giving me any information as to how long it might be until it's open or till I get my money. I have a light bill; I was already on an extension. I needed to pay it two days ago. I can't do that because you guys stole my money and are holding it hostage 'cause you're *** hard who don't know how to run a company, especially a bank. You should not be allowed to run the business you're running. In fact, it should be illegal what you're doing. You're stealing from people. What the *** difference does it make what I'm doing with my money that I work for? Has nothing to do with you; it's none of your *** business. You need to give me my money. I want to close that account. I will leave you so many horrible reviews and I will keep calling every day and going and talking to any and everybody that will listen because this is crazy. You guys should be in jail and your customer service rep is a moron, and honey, if you see this, I don't care. You have my information; you can come get it.

Anyways, like I was saying, you guys need to be shut down. I'm going to leave you the worst reviews and every single day, every 5 minutes if I have to. Give me my money now. I need to pay my bills; that's what I have a bank account for, not for you all to steal the account, shut it down, and just use the money as you see fit. You're not even telling me how long it's going to be for y'all to investigate why I spent my money. It's not even my fault I had to use Zelle payments. That's your fault for making somebody wait three weeks for a debit card when it's usually five to seven business days for most banks. What the *** do I have to wait three weeks for the debit card with you all? The only way to access my money was to use Zelle through your website that you provide, might I add. So what harm was it of me using my money to send through Zelle on your website to my friends and family so I have access to my funds at all? That was the only way I can even get to my money until I get the debit card in the mail, which is not even until the end of this month. I still don't understand that. Everything about y'all's business is ridiculous and just flat-out wrong. You guys should not be in the banking business of all things; clearly, you don't know anything about what you're doing. This is the worst, worst company I've ever come across, and I do not ever recommend anybody using you because you're going to get your money stolen. You know why? Because they're going to get mad at you for using your money for some reason, and then they'll shut you down and hold your money hostage like they're doing me and not even give me a guesstimate of how long it might take you all to investigate why I spent my money. What the *** is that? Doesn't even sound right; doesn't even make sense what y'all are doing, and it should be illegal.

And if you don't close the account and send me my money in the mail like yesterday, I'm going to call my lawyer, and then you're going to have a big problem 'cause I'll take your company. This is not right and it is not legal; it can't be. You can't just take people's money because they used it, you f***tards. You’ve been warned. Now close the account and send my check in the mail or you will be speaking to my lawyer very soon, and then maybe I can run your bank considering I'm gonna sue you and own your bank. Try me; I'm so not kidding! You have 3 to 5 business days to close my account and send out a check with my money from my account in the mail or I will see you in court, and I promise you I will keep leaving messages and bad reviews every ten minutes until you fix this. How dare y'all punish me and take my money hostage because I used my own money? Why is wrong? Y'all, are you slow or stealing? It's hard to tell.

I will make sure everyone knows how horrible your bank really is, and I recorded the calls too, just like y'all did, so try me if you want to; I will love seeing y'all explain to the judge why you stole my money and refused to give me a valid reason or a time of being returned, and y'all treated me like I was a criminal when I was a customer who was left with no choice but to use Zelle through your app to access my funds and send to family and friends to get money out due to the fact I don't have a debit card yet, and that's the only way I could get my funds. So again, not my fault, but you treated me like this was a crime to use my cash to pay bills or get food or whatever I want to use my money for. It's none of y'all's concern. What kind of bank are you anyways?? Makes no sense at all, and I'm hell-bent on making it so known. I'm really hoping you'll go ahead and write that check for my balance and put it in the mailbox today or tomorrow because every few minutes I'm going to leave a text, and I'm going to leave another email, and I'm going to leave another few horrible reviews because I'm speaking the truth, and there is nothing wrong or illegal about that. So I'm going to be a busy girl until you get busy writing my check and closing my account. I will make sure nobody uses your company if I can have anything to do with it 'cause I'm going to start typing and I'm not going to stop until you start writing. So you better get on it; that's not a threat, it's a promise. You're holding my money hostage; you're stealing from me. I was a customer who was left with no choice because you guys don't know how to run a business. I had to use a platform through your site; therefore, you're compatible with it. I was supposed to, what the *** was the problem? You're acting like I stole somebody's account and I'm stealing her money. It's my account, you *** it's my money. You are the one stealing at this point. You guys might need to go back to school while you're at it. Try to freaking maybe open your ears next time you go through. Clearly, you guys don't know what you're doing, but I do, and I will run it better than you, and that's what I'm going to set out to do if you don't send me my money and close my account. If my power goes out because I can't access my money to pay my light bill when I was already on an extension, I have a child here; I have a dog with a breathing disorder. I have to have power. Let me have my power turned off, and I bet you any amount of money in the world that I will make your life a living *** until the day I die. You will have no customers if it's up to me because I will make sure nobody else goes through this. Now I'm going to let you get back to your job; hopefully, you'll be writing a check very soon for my balance and sending it to me. If I don't see it within the next few days, five tops, I will see you in court. Now I've got a lot of work to do, a lot of reviewing and posting and messaging and emailing to do. Every 5 minutes, I'll be sending each of those out into the world to make sure nobody else has to go through this. Bye-bye now; I got a lot of work to do. Have a great day, ***

rates still criminally high, capitalist regime still greedy and corrupt, bulk populous still financially screwed. 2025 cost-of-existing increase forecasted to be around 2.5%, still making history.

hello stock market crash, looking forward to it..

bring it on, how low can it go. would be nice to see precious metals market bubble pop also.

probably not, who knows how much longer they will be in business. especially after the class-action suits.

Original review Aug 01, 2024
if a lender engaged in subprime (the usual profiteering) they deserve a financial death penalty (and all the execs).
bought a newer/used car and 15% was the rate for 3/4/5yr with an economic death spiral discount when doing 6yr (14.5%). the trade-in took care of more than 50% of the purchase cost.
after following various news reports about the predictable rise in repo's and loan defaults (just sue the auto industry) it was interesting to note which lenders had toxic investment positions.
many lenders got fat off operation super-sniffle (bio terror weapon) but now they are trying to survive, like a cancerous tumor.

stage 5 anyone?

alas, just a sign of the times within a dollar dictatorship. credit card companies equally evil.

Pros:
  • Said yes to my previous car loan app with a low score
Cons:
  • Greed like with all lenders even credit unions

Preferred solution: a reasonable interest rate regardless of lender greed history, and eventual financial demise.

User's recommendation: avoid all lenders and most forms of debt. a debt based economy/society is one destined for self extermination.

Very simple solution....when you are presented documentation to sign, YOU READ what you agreeing to BEFORE your agree to it! That's a matter of COMMON SENSE!

I'll bet YOU didn't do that, did you? Now you come here AFTER THE FACT to admit to the world YOU HAVE ZERO COMMON SENSE because only a complete dunce would do something THAT stupid!

an amusing guest response, thank you. shall we dissect your digital contribution?

where to begin... look before you leap and you will fall off fewer tree's, or in this case read before you sign. a valid critique for most of the mindless masses/voters with traditional debts like loans and credit of every flavor. but a shoe that fits most does not fit all.

most of the car loan lending options require a bank account. as i refrain from such things, the joys of a somewhat bank-less existence (reduced spam/scam is a bonus), there are few options to choose from. ally and nissan nmac seem to be debit card friendly thus far when loan/vehicle shopping. its nice to have a trade-in that prepays 75% of the next vehicles "out the door" cost.

now, indicating a debit card some might think that suggests the existence of a bank account, yes and no. a financial account yes with a company/agency that refuses to give out account and routing number specifics. those with this card/account know exactly what i am referring to (several thousand per state, just a guess). "common sense" you say.

something usually in short supply on any normal day and lesser still after a disqualified criminal gets elected, perhaps. well, common sense would suggest not wasting money, which is worthless in and of itself. so logically, cue vulcan mode, having no loan/debt is best. just one problem...

the credit score game/racketeering within a capitalist regime (numbers dictate life) has an issue with that. so having a manageable yet expensive loan is somewhat desirable to play the credit numbers game. also, some of us have zero credit cards (less junk mail too). the percentage rate is where the true crime happens.

so the decision of one loan option, at a non-nissan dealer, vs no newer vehicle acquisition seems to be the endgame. the strategic use of caps in your reply is similar to the clickbait on youtube. i did what i could with the limited options available. looks like i will be losing less than 150usd to interest given my current repayment strategy i.e.

less than full term. spreadsheets are so much fun. amazing the number of idiots with high dollar mortgages on a piece of stick-built stupidity, usually, and wondering why they are so dollars and senseless. back at the stealership, the look on the f&i persons face when i stated my financing limitations/requirements when going with the criminally high ally interest rate...

was truly priceless. indeed ally is falling on hard times, like most of the greedy banks.

all should be allowed to fail, and have the exec's and investors pay for the mess... exclusively.

Any smelly, serial deadbeat earns the APR they cultivated by these lovers not paying their bills on time because of the losses the menders experience because these SERIAL DEADBEATS never kearn to pay their bills on time. If you had a brain, you would seek out another lender and if your credit is as stellar as you claim it is, you would have no problem getting a low APR bank loan..

clearly someones single digit offspring exploited internet access when the adults were drunk/stoned. although this capitalist/debt based society is indeed full of deadbeats, especially when running for public office or controlling a major company (cant spell felon without elon).

Ally Financial - Your money gets locked

Don't put your money into Ally, you might as well set it on fire; you will never get it back. They randomly disable your Zelle and suspend your account so you can't transfer out to other banks.

Their chat support is useless, they say you have to call, and then when you call, they still say it takes one to two business days. The 'Invest' part of the app crashes the app when you click on it, and it's always down.

Our vehicle was totaled, and the insurance company cannot get in touch with Ally Auto. The insurance company has tried to get the necessary information to pay off our vehicle.

They were told they would have information in 5 to 7 days, but they have had no luck. It has been longer than 7 days and still no response. I will be retaining legal counsel for this. This is a disgrace for a company to be run so poorly.

If you call, it goes to India every time, and they tell you yes to everything you say.

Non-native english speakers very hard to understand. Was told the "American Customer service center is closed or on a break". I called during normal business hours. Zero help to correct information.

Car I paid off over 20 years ago. I have pink slip.

Is still showing as having a gmc lien. Gmc told me to call this Ally place because car was bought new in 1995.

Ridiculous. Still unresolved and wasted my time.

Horrific Customer Service! RUN DO NOT USE THEIR AUTO SERVICE!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had an issue with my bank that I wasn't aware of until Ally notified me that my payment had not been made. Upon logging into my Ally account, I discovered that they indicated they had received two payments and reversed two payments. After reviewing my bank account, I noticed only one payment was received. To try and track what happened, I contacted Ally to get reference/transaction numbers for the reversal so that I could contact my bank. The customer service person from Alley, who identified himself as Joval at the beginning of the call, was extremely rude. He did not allow me to explain what I was seeing and ask questions based on his explanation, which was 'we sent the money back, call your bank'. I asked him if he had a transaction number for the two returned payments, he stated he did not, so I asked if he could provide a reference number for my account and this call. He then kept repeating 'we sent the money back, call your bank'. I asked to speak to a manager as I felt he was really rude. He stated there was no manager available; they were all in meetings. I asked if he could note on my account for a manager to return my call, but he repeated 'we sent the money back, call your bank'. I repeated my request for a manager with the same response, then I requested he transfer me to another agent and he stated 'just hang up and call back'.

I hung up, called back, and spoke to someone identified as Julie Carless. I requested to speak with a manager. She stated she'd put me on hold while she found out who the supervisor for the day was. While on hold, I could hear her typing, but she never officially put the call on hold. I was on the phone for 45 minutes and 32 seconds before she picked up again (mind you, I could hear her) and said that the supervisors were all in meetings today and I should call back in an hour.

Well, I waited an hour and, after getting the information I needed from my bank, I called Ally back. I cleared up the payment issue with another representative identifying herself as Maddie. At the end of clearing the payment issue, I requested that Maddie either transfer me to a supervisor or note on my account that I'd like a call back from one. Maddie began to inquire about why I wanted to speak to a manager, and I told her that it had nothing to do with her - I'd previously experienced an issue that I'd like to notify the supervisor of. She then stated that they have too many supervisors and she couldn't provide me with a name. I asked her to just note on my account that I'm requesting a call back. When I asked Maddie for a reference number for documentation of my call, she stated she couldn't give me one - they don't do that. However, I know they do as I have several from a previous call a few months back! At that point, I gave up. I figured I'd call another department, which, unfortunately, Ally Auto is a subsidiary of the bank. But, the bank employee I reached was helpful, providing me with a complaint mailing address and telling me how to address it. He attempted with me to get the supervisor on the line, but we both got hung up on!

Now, I'm four hours into just dealing with their customer service! I have always had great experiences with them, but this interaction has me looking for immediate ways to discontinue my services with them by any means! I'm ready to take a loss and end my contract with them! I don't ever want to deal with them again!

In other words, it's YOUR money in YOUR account and you don't even have the common sense to keep records of the debits with a running available balance and you don't even bother to balance YOUR account when the statement comes out. If YOU would have been doing these COMMON SENSE things, then YOU would have caught the FIRST discrepancy. Incredible!!!

Defer December payment

I want to defer the December payment. We had unexpected expenses that will make it a hardship to pay the December payment.

Unprofessional and untrained customer service agents

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Back some time ago. I believe it in the last year beginning of this year I opened an account with Ally Bank.

It sounded like the perfect bank which has proven to be too good to be true. Immediately. We had issues with me receiving my card. I had to order a card three different times.

I was able to order this said card on a chat back in March. I have unauthorized transactions up here and of course wouldn't you know. I had no money in the account so they used the overdraft on it. I immediately got on the chat and reported this.

They did not file a dispute. I was sent a video of a dispute I was told I had to call in. I called in and I didn't call in that same day I was mad because I don't like talking on the phone. I'd rather deal with everything through email or texting simply because then I have proof of what you said and what I said and there's no in between and there's no getting it wrong.

Well a period of time me reporting this reporting this. I did end up using the overdraft on it and I owed them some money. They never once filed a dispute the whole time I complained about these charges for the last 4 months. They just didn't bother but they wanted their money.

So I tried to call and use my debit card to add money to my account. Can't do that. I said well can I go to an ATM and add money? No we don't take cash.

What bank? Don't take cash. I thought the two went together. Apparently I am wrong.

They want me to do a wire transfer that was going to cost More money than I was willing to pay out to them again so I decided to transfer it through my bank which somehow wires got crossed. I was only allowed to transfer $5. Finally we figured all this out and got it fixed. So I did a money transfer and I transferred them all the money they were owed including the fees I did not make just to clear my account thinking they would open my account back up they first yesterday I was told they did get the money and it within Network I would have to contact them again tomorrow which is today to talk to somebody in their back office.

That was annoying since I was told I had 24/7 customer support 24/7 banking and I had neither of those so far. So I contacted him again today. The lady I contacted I told her I did a bank transfer. She said how did you make your payment?

I then told her I would like to speak to someone else because I just told her I made my payment. But yes she asked me again and then she continued to ask me to send a check for the payments they were owed I had to get pretty *** to get the lady's attention to let her know that she wasn't listening again and I had already made my payment and I want to know where my money's at and I want to talk to a manager cuz I'm not going to talk to nobody else I get another probably same level agent who says she's a lead member I speak to her. I inform her of all these things she goes back and she's like oh I'm sorry I see where we did this and we did that but the whole time all they wanted was their money. And to tell me how I could refer back to page whatever in their handbook.

Which I made the mistake of not reading. Everybody should read those. Since they wanted to keep telling me what page to find what on. I asked him if they was aware that they breach contract with me when they didn't file a dispute on the purchases that were on my card that I did not approve that I did not waste no time whatsoever I notified them the same day.

Those charges were made now over 4 months and over several different employees. Nobody filed that dispute on those charges. I have since started filing with the Federal reserve to file a formal complaint against this bank. Because nothing is resolved, I'm still in the same position.

They're eventually going to reject my transfer and send my money back where then I will have to send them cashier's check which I'm going to deduct the charges I did not make from and I will not be paying them and just like I told them I do not wish to be a customer of theirs because they do not listen to me. They just take my money and run with it and don't care what I say after that.

Bad experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My experience with the Ally Auto Loan Agreement has been deeply disappointing. From high interest rates to poor customer service, this loan agreement has been more trouble than it's worth.

High Interest Rates

The interest rates offered by Ally are significantly higher than those from other lenders. Despite their claims of competitive rates, I found myself locked into a loan with exorbitant interest. Misleading information initially suggested lower rates, but hidden clauses quickly revealed the truth.

Hidden Fees

Hidden fees and unexpected charges seem to be a staple of Ally's auto loan agreement. These fees were not disclosed upfront, leading to unpleasant surprises. For example, the administration fees and late payment penalties were never clearly explained, adding an extra burden to my finances.

Overly Complex Terms

The terms of the loan agreement are overly complex and confusing. This lack of clarity feels intentional, as if it was designed to keep customers in the dark about the true costs and conditions of the loan.

Inability to Make Additional Payments

One of the most frustrating aspects of Ally's loan agreement is the inability to make additional payments towards the principal loan amount. This restriction prevents borrowers from paying off their loans faster and saving on interest. Every time I tried to pay extra, the money was applied to future payments instead, defeating the purpose of trying to reduce the principal.

Poor Reporting Practices

My credit score also suffered due to Ally's poor reporting practices. Despite making timely payments, there were inaccuracies in how the loan was reported to credit bureaus, negatively impacting my credit score. Attempts to correct these errors were met with indifference and delays.

In summary, my experience with the Ally Auto Loan Agreement has been fraught with high costs, poor service, and negative financial impacts. The inability to pay down the principal only adds to the frustration. I would advise anyone considering an auto loan to look elsewhere and approach Ally with caution.

I've called and called numerous times but even after agent after another agent after sometimes a third, fourth agent I still can't get anyone to transfer me to the correct depth. And it would be helpful if I could understand what they are saying, their English still needs some work unfortunately.

Questions were never answered, just transfered from department to department. So irritating. Don't try calling.

$22,382.00 Later and I Can't Get a Correct Title. Horrible Experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I completed the purchase of my leased vehicle through Ally Financial on 3/28/24, which included NJ State Sales Tax. The Bill of Sale was mailed to me, and the transaction was accurately broken down.

However, the Title came separately with an incorrect entry in the sales tax column, showing the total price paid but with zero (0) entered in the sales tax column. Due to this mistake, MJMVC will not accept the Bill of Sale to transfer ownership. Although Ally Financial cashed my check for $22,382.00, they refused to send me a corrected title. It's been five months.

Despite making over fifteen phone calls (all recorded) and five chats, I have been unable to resolve the issue as one department blames the other.

Meanwhile, Ally Financial is still listed as the legal owner of my 2021 Jeep Cherokee. I have since transferred my money out of Ally Bank.

Run away from this financial institution unless you are subprime or have limited credit. Even then, it would be wise to look elsewhere.

Confidential Hold?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

How is it that 30K personal checks from my lawyer have less of an issue than a 800 check from my 401k company? I entered a mobile deposit and got an email that my entire check would be held a week.

I called service and was told there was info this check may not clear so they have to hold it a week.

It does not take 5 business days to confirm a check from Fidelity and even in that time it is a low risk to a bank to allow some funds to be released to the customer. Your algorithms and policies need to be revisited and I am very close to leaving you as my bank.
